In his early teens, Jaco grew a strong passion for the game of golf. After school he decided to take a more serious approach towards playing golf as a career but soon found the passion to teach the game of golf instead. After finishing up university at the end of 2012 (University of Pretoria, South Africa) and successfully completing his PGA qualification he received the opportunity to join the Troon family at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in 2013.
In August of 2020 Jaco got the opportunity to work for the world class facility Yas Links Abu Dhabi and has since worked his way up to become the Senior Golf Instructor. Jaco strongly believes in building solid foundations with his students in order to achieve the best possible outcomes within the technical aspect of their golf swing. Since starting at the Yas Links Academy, Jaco has found a passion for golf and fitness and loves taking time to analyze how the swing and the body interacts with one another through muscle- and-joint mobility and flexibility. Since his newly found passion, Jaco got certified in TPI Level 1 (Titleist performance institute) as well as Techno Gym ’ s Golf performance program certification and is currently busy working on his TPI Fitness certification.
Jaco has been a valuable asset to Yas Links and is looking forward to improving himself and using his expertise to help those in need of a better golf game.
